  • Use quality sausages meat with no added fillers or preservatives for the best flavour.
  • Ensure your eggs are well coated in the flour, eggs and breadcrumb mix to prevent any of the sausage meat from leaking out. For a crispy coating, double up on your breadcrumbs and flour mix.

Tempt your taste buds with this delicious Air Fryer Scotch Egg recipe! Crisp, golden brown shells that crack open to reveal juicy, succulent eggy goodness - this is the ultimate indulgence. Bursting with flavour and texture, these scrumptious snacks are the perfect finger food for any occasion.

Ingredients:
  • 6 Boiled Eggs (Hard Or Soft)
  • 450 g Sausage Meat
  • 65 g All Purpose Flour
  • 2 Large Eggs (Raw)
  • 180 g Panko Breadcrumbs
  • 3 Cloves Of Garlic (Minced)
  • 1/2 Onion (Finely Chopped)
  • 2 tsp Smoked Paprika (Optional)
  • 2 tsp Dried Mixed Herbs
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Ground Black Pepper
How To Make The Perfect Air-Fried Scotch Eggs
  1. Step 1

    In a large bowl combine your Onion, Garlic, Salt, Black Pepper and Mixed Herbs before mixing in your Sausage Meat. Stir together until everything is evenly combined. Then separate into 6 evenly sized balls.

  2. Step 2

    Switch on your Air Fryer to begin pre heating and set the temperature to 180°C (356°F). Then prepare 3 bowls 1 small and 2 shallow this will be your breading station.

    In the small bowl beat together your 2 eggs.

    In a shallow bowl add your flour and paprika, mix until combined.

    In the last shallow bowl place your Panko Breadcrumbs.

  3. Step 3

    Place your 6 sausage meat balls on a lightly floured surface and flatten slightly, then take one boiled egg and wrap each meat ball around the egg. Make sure the sausage meat is wrapped tightly around the egg with no gaps or cracks.

  4. Step 4

    Roll your Scotch Egg through each of the 3 bowls in order to coat evenly. Begin with the flour mix, then dip into egg mixture, then roll in the breadcrumbs. Repeat this 2 to 3 times for each egg or until evenly coated.

  5. Step 5

    Once your Air Fryer has reached the desired temperature, place each Scotch Egg onto a lightly oiled Air Fryer tray ensuring you leave space between them for the air to circulate and cook for 15-18 minutes or until golden brown.
